October 22, 2024 - (Susanna Vogel) Blue Shield of California and Salesforce, a cloud-based customer relation management company, announced a partnership on Monday that aims to cut down the prior authorization process from days to seconds. Making prior authorization requests as easy as credit card transactions. During a panel at HLTH 2024 on Monday, Paul Markovich, Blue Shield of California CEO, likened the advancement to making prior authorization requests as easy as credit card transactions. He said providers would now have answers about approvals “in real time or in near real time.” The tool, which will be built on Salesforce Health Cloud, queries the patient’s electronic health record for relevant clinical information and organizes the data into a pre-populated form for physicians to submit to Blue Shield, according to a press release accompanying the announcement. this Covered California for Small Business (CCSB) is no longer offering California Dental Network (CDN) plans within their dental plan offering for new enrollments and renewals., CCSB will continue to offer Delta Dental for employers/members looking for a dental plan option. Important Details: New CCSB Employer groups with an effective date on or after 10/1/24 will not have CDN as a dental option. They may choose one of the plan options available through Delta Dental. CDN Members of existing groups renewing on or after 01/01/25 will be migrated to the Delta Dental HMO plan. For existing groups renewing on or after 10/1/24 that currently have CDN as their reference dental plan, the reference plan will be migrated to the Delta Dental HMO. Should a group wish to choose a different reference plan, they will need to actively select a new plan during their renewal period. CDN Members of existing groups that have already renewed for 2024 will stay with CDN until the 2025 renewal period. At that time, they will be migrated to Delta Dental HMO.
